Anki is free on Windows / Mac / Linux and Android (AnkiDroid). On iPhone and iPad, AnkiMobile (paid). These decks carry native audio, so they have to be imported on a computer or in AnkiMobile — AnkiWeb in the browser cannot import them on its own. No computer, no paid app? The Flashcards Web App runs the same sentences and audio right in your browser, free.
I bought a monthly deck — will the Complete deck give me duplicates?
No. Monthly decks and the Complete deck are built with the same card IDs, so Anki recognizes cards you already own and merges them. Your review history stays intact — nothing is doubled, nothing is lost.
What devices does this work on?
Any device that runs Anki: Windows, Mac and Linux (free), Android via AnkiDroid (free), and iPhone/iPad via AnkiMobile (paid). Because these decks include native audio, the import has to happen in the computer version or in AnkiMobile — AnkiWeb in the browser cannot import them on its own. Once a deck is in, AnkiWeb sync keeps your devices in step.
Is the audio streamed, or does it work offline?
The audio is embedded inside every card. Once you import the deck, everything — sentences, translations and native audio — works completely offline. Perfect for commutes and flights.
