Today’s story きょうの あらすじ

After my recent business trip to Osaka, I stayed one night at my family home before coming back to Tokyo. Actually, I really struggled with whether to stay at my family home. That's because my family home was rebuilt long after I grew up and moved out, so there's no room of my own there. So every single time I go back, I carry my futon, which is stored on the second floor, down to the first floor, lay it out in a corner of a room, and sleep there. Carrying this one futon set down from the second floor to the first floor, and then carrying it back up to the second floor again, is a big job. For me, since I usually live in an apartment in Tokyo, just going up and down stairs is hard enough on its own. On top of that, going up and down those stairs while holding a whole futon set is really tiring. But in the end, I was able to talk with my father about lots of things, and I was also able to visit my mother's grave, so I think it turned out to be a good time.
