After coming back from Thailand, this morning I went on my usual morning walk for the first time in a while. When I walk in a hotel gym on business trips or while traveling, I watch the distance shown on the treadmill, 500 meters, then 1 kilometer from the start, and walk while imagining, "At my usual park, I'd be walking around that spot now." This morning it was the opposite: I walked while remembering my gym walks, thinking, "When the treadmill showed 500 meters to go, this is about where I was." To be honest, I wanted to skip my walk this morning. But I know that once the thread of continuity breaks, it's hard to get it back, so I told myself to just walk, and I pushed myself and went. My usual daily life starts again.
