Today’s story きょうの あらすじ

Yesterday, while I was walking around town, I saw a car driving along with a sign saying "Self-driving test in progress." What I'd seen before were cars and buses with signs saying "In training." Those are vehicles that new drivers are practicing in. But this time, the sign I saw said "Self-driving test in progress." It was an inconspicuous white car with a sticker in black letters saying "Test in progress," but I didn't miss it. According to the news, a driverless taxi service will apparently start in Japan too next year, in 2027. The day is getting closer when Japan, too, will finally have driverless taxis. I feel kind of excited.
