Tokyo entered the rainy season on Sunday, and this year it truly feels like one, with steady rain and a chill in the air. Knowing a month of humid gloom lies ahead, I am determined to keep my spirits up.

昨日、日曜日に東京が梅雨入りをしました。ここ数年は、梅雨に入る前から夏のような暑さが続いたり、梅雨なのに雨がそんなに降らなかったりしていたような気がします。でも今年は、直前に台風が来たこともあって、雨が続いていて、梅雨らしい雰囲気の梅雨入りだなぁと、思っています。

きのう、にちようびにとうきょうがつゆいりをしました。ここすうねんは、つゆにはいるまえからなつのようなあつさがつづいたり、つゆなのにあめがそんなにふらなかったりしていたようなきがします。でも、ことしは、ちょくぜんにたいふうがきたこともあって、あめがつづいていて、つゆらしいふんいきのつゆいりだなぁと、おもっています。
