This year we are finally having a proper rainy season — gray skies every day, a folding umbrella always in my bag, and July's rising heat stacking humidity on top. That is exactly why I cannot wait for the day this dull sky snaps into a clear summer one.

今年の梅雨は本当に梅雨らしい毎日です。ここ数年は、梅雨入りした途端にすぐに梅雨明けしてしまったり、雨が全然降らない日が続いたりしていました。私はよく、昔は梅雨と言えば、毎日しとしとと雨が降り続いていたのに、最近は変な天気だなぁと思っていました。

ことしのつゆはほんとうにつゆらしいまいにちです。ここすうねんは、つゆいりしたとたんにすぐにつゆあけしてしまったり、あめがぜんぜんふらないひがつづいたりしていました。わたしはよく、むかしはつゆといえば、まいにちしとしととあめがふりつづいていたのに、さいきんはへんなてんきだなぁとおもっていました。
