Last Sunday I woke up sweating and very thirsty; my air conditioner runs on a four-hour timer, so it stops before morning. After a little water I set out on my usual walk, but I felt unsteady from the start. At my desk afterwards I read the same lines over and over without getting anywhere, and then came nausea, dizziness and a heavy tiredness. It felt exactly like the heatstroke I had ten years ago, so I drank barley tea, lay down, and ended up in bed all day. Even when you think you are fine, heatstroke comes on that suddenly.
