At the end of this summer in Tokyo, it rained for 38 days straight, and instead of the usual hot end to summer, it was chilly day after day. The temperature was low, and even when the rain stopped, the air was dry. The hotel room was drier than usual, so when I woke up in the morning, my throat was parched and my skin was dry and flaky. I was so concerned about the dryness that I called the front desk and borrowed a humidifier. But it seemed like the humidifier wasn't very powerful, because even though I kept it on all the time, my throat stayed parched and my skin stayed dry. After two days of dryness at the hotel, even after returning home, my skin is still dry.
